Multiple Screenings in early May!

Join KEET PBS for a special screening and community discussion of Artists Breaking Barriers — a bold new documentary uplifting the voices of six remarkable young artists living along California’s Redwood Coast.
 These aren’t just artists—they’re changemakers. Through poetry, visual art, fiber craft, drag performance, and music, they explore identity, challenge injustice, and ignite powerful conversations in their communities.
 Whether you're a parent, educator, artist, activist, or just curious about what the next generation is thinking, this film invites you to pause—and truly listen.

KEET KIDS

KEET Kids offers an array of fun and educational activities in math, science, and reading; creative projects, podcasts, and snack tips for kids, too. 

Live From the Old Steeple

Located in the Victorian Village of Ferndale, California, The Old Steeple resides in the 115+ year-old former Methodist church. KEET-TV is proud to present this original local production which features musicians, singers, songwriters and performers from across the country.

May 17th from 7pm - 10pm

This powerful new PBS documentary from Stanley Nelson and Nicole London explores the rise of funk music and its deep connection to Black identity, politics, and culture. Featuring legends like James Brown, George Clinton, and Questlove, the film is a rhythmic, revolutionary ride through music history.

After the screening, join us for a lively community discussion, then hit the dance floor as Claire Bent & Citizen Funk bring the funk to life with a high-energy live set.

For more than a decade, renowned Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr. has helped to expand America’s sense of itself, stimulating a national conversation about identity with humor, wisdom, and compassion. Professor Gates has explored the ancestry of dozens of influential people from diverse backgrounds, taking millions of viewers deep into the past to reveal the connections that bind us all.

Ferndale - Free Public Screening of Free for All: The Public Library - May 6th at 6:30pm

Indie Lens Pop-Up, presented by ITVS, INDEPENDENT LENS, Ferndale Library and KEET PBS, invites you to a free community event featuring a special preview screening of Free for All: The Public Library.
 Free for All: The Public Library tells the inspiring story of the quiet revolutionaries — many of them women — who built a civic institution where everything is free and open to all. The film traces the history of America's public libraries and the battles over access, resources, and democracy itself, while celebrating the essential role libraries play in every community, big and small.

Independent Lens - Pop Up 

Indie Lens Pop-Up is a neighborhood series that brings people together—virtually and in-person—for film screenings and community-driven conversations. Featuring documentaries seen on PBS’s Independent Lens, Indie Lens Pop-Up draws local residents, leaders, and organizations to discuss what matters most, from newsworthy topics and social issues, to family and community relationships.

Tuesdays at 9pm

This new four-part docuseries from Emmy nominated executive producer, host, and writer Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr., tells the story of African American movement over the 20th and 21st centuries, and how it has shaped our nation by exploring the meaning behind those movements. What political or economic pressures inspire people to move? Is it more often inspired by hope or fear? Is there even such a thing as a promised land? The first episode is entitled “Exodus.”
